Job Scams on Craigs Lists

Hey guys I'm always looking for a way to make some extra cash in my field of work. Found this on Craigs List.

A new electronics and computer repair company will be opening soon right here in the Daytona Beach/Port Orange area. Our services include the repair and installation of computers, dvrs, amplifiers, and any other electronics. Our primary objective is electronic component board repair, including in shop and field work. This company is expanding due to an overwhelming amount of repair work needed in several industries. We are hoping to form a team that will enable us to accept all of the opportunities that are offered to us. This will be an exciting opportunity with a very progressive family owned and operated company. We are currently looking for computer and component level repair technicians.
Some of the basic duties for technicians may include:
- Component level repair (diagnostic and troubleshooting)
- Knowledge in website hosting and design
- A+ knowledge and beyond (computer rebuild hardware, software, networking)
- Ability to work with Static IPs and other internet programming
- Any other skills applicant can bring
This is a part-time or on an as-needed basis. We don't expect applicants to possess all of the above. We will gladly consider each individual and what they have to bring. We are looking for a well rounded team so that together we can accomplish our objectives. We offer a great work environment and we hope to learn from each other as we develop.

I am not a stupid person. I am so careful. I had applied online to so many jobs and then I posted on Craigslist. bam! I'm hit. I have had a few e-mails from James Brown. I at first thought he had my resume so I saw no harm in filling out the name, address ,age phone number,etc, no bank info...and then the e-mails got more strange. He wants me to buy checks and check printing software and he will give me further instructions. below is the first mailing I got. What can he do with my name and address? I re-sent him my resume, even a picture! I am so stupid! can someone plese help me understand if he can do anything with my information or waht he intended to do with the checks? I asked him questions we even chated on I.M. he instructed me to get back on line at noon and to have the software uploaded.

shortly after i got another e-mail just like it from a different person. I already sent my info. i asked him about it and this was his reply

The message was still being sent by one of my Co-Lawyer as i let them know i needed a PA , so they are also helping me to search . I just told few of them not to search again that i already have a Personal Assistant so dont let that bothers you and dont respond to any Message you get from them

I received your application,I'm sure you'll understand I tend to have a very busy schedule at this point.

Please note that this position is not office based for now because of my frequent travels and tight schedules, it's a part-time, work from home basis and the flexibilty means that there will be busier weeks than others, so it's a little difficult judging the exact number of hours you'll be doing per week.If you can manage your time properly, this job may even give you some extra while you do something else on the side.


As I have said, I'd want us to get a head start with things as soon as possible. I do have a pile up of work and a number of unattended chores which you can immediately assist me with, I hope we can meet up with the workload eventually. Permit me to use this coming week to test your efficiency and diligence towards all this, also to work out your time schedule and fit it to mine. So once you received the Check all needed of you to do is for you to deduct your $500 weekly Pay from it and send the remaining money to the Manager to arrnage those Tools inside the Office ,

  1. Billings craig list posting of Mr. Brown James looking for an assistant. The details are repeated and the same. Sent an email back to individual brown_jjj@hotmail.com please report details to the fbi online site. he will continue or change to a different email. If an individual says they are a realtor they will have licience information in the state they are licienced. even if they let their licience go you can still contact that state department and have it verified. same goes for the bar or attorney information. These two fields of interest are very common and very regulated. If they are a usa citizen they must have an address. or social security card. always report them. although the secret service doesn't do much with them. they do track them and their blood money in varied banks and countries. it does save usa soldiers lives. more questions contact me at northerntier@msn.com
